Ahmad Fadil Rizkyantoro

Ahmad Fadil earned a Bachelor's degree from the Agrotechnology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jember. Through his research experience, he conducted a research project that was funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Republic of Indonesia in identifying the genetic diversity of 22 clones of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz.) from several regions in Indonesia by implementing a molecular assisted-selection (MAS), Random Amplified Polymorphism DNA (RAPDs). The research aimed to provide food availability by enlarging the types of staple food instead of rice, maintaining the national food security stock. Moreover, he previously worked as a molecular biologist at PT. BISI International Tbk. by handling numerous research projects; genetic purity & uniformity analysis, genetic verification, DNA-genotyping and DNA-fingerprinting with Simple Sequence Repeats (SSRs), sterility check of Cytoplasmic Male Sterility (CMS) with Mitochondrial Repeat Specific (drrCMS), DNA fragment analysis with a capillary electrophoresis (Genetic Analyzer® 3500xL, Applied Biosystem US). Furthermore, he graduated with a Master of Biotechnology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and conducted deep research in bio-fungicide development based on RNAi (RNA interference); small-interfering RNA (siRNA) of Chitin synthase (CHS) targeted gene as the prevention of Ganoderma boninense which causes the basal stem rot disease in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.).
