The Software Engineering Supervisor (Squad Supervisor) provides technical leadership and direction to a team of IT professionals, ensuring the efficient operation of our IT systems. This role is more than just oversight; it requires a balance of technical expertise and human-centric leadership. You will manage day-to-day activities, project delivery, and infrastructure maintenance, all while fostering a culture of honesty, empathy, and agility to meet the organization's evolving goals.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Actively monitor and manage code repositories, conduct code reviews, and manage software rollouts with an adaptable mindset.
- Determine project requirements and develop work schedules that respect team capacity and well-being.
- Delegate tasks effectively to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals while maintaining a sustainable pace.
- Identify risks early and form contingency plans with honesty and transparency regarding potential hurdles.
- Act as a bridge between team members, management, and clients, ensuring projects are completed to high standards through clear, compassionate communication.
- Monitor and ensure the performance and availability of software in production, responding to incidents with calm and focus.
- Partner with Software Engineering managers to set up and optimize development and production environments.
- Write progress reports and deliver stakeholder presentations that reflect the honest reality of project statuses.
- Update work schedules and identify risks as they emerge, pivoting quickly to meet new challenges.
- Foster a space of radical honesty regarding challenges, failures, and successes to encourage collective learning.
- Motivate staff by creating a safe, empathetic environment where they feel empowered to ask questions and voice concerns.
- Analyze existing operations and lead training sessions to discuss improvements with an agile "fail fast, learn faster" approach.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the team remains competitive and forward-thinking.
Kualifikasi
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an IT Supervisor or in a related leadership role.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages and libraries (e.g., PHP, TypeScript, Go).
- Good knowledge of Windows/Linux Server and Databases.
- Hands-on experience with Agile & Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills rooted in empathy and professional integrity.
Bonus Points:
- Experience managing cloud services (e.g., Alibaba Cloud, AWS, GCP).
- Experience handling projects with substantial levels of traffic or user engagement.
