About Edufarmers International Foundation
Edufarmers International Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on strengthening the
four pillars of food security: availability, desirability, access, and utilization of food. Through
innovative programs, Edufarmers aims to empower local communities and improve food
security by addressing critical issues in agriculture and public health. Edufarmers focuses on
two main areas: Agriculture Services and Development, and Stunting Prevention and Nutrition
AI Program.
One of Edufarmers’ flagship innovations under the Agriculture Services portfolio is an AIpowered
agronomy solution that equips smallholder farmers and extension workers with
actionable insights to improve productivity and sustainability. After demonstrating strong
results in Indonesia, Edufarmers is now expanding this solution to Thailand and Vietnam. This
regional scale-up reflects Edufarmers’ commitment to contributing to food security across
Southeast Asia by leveraging inclusive, data-driven technologies.
We are seeking a Project Lead who will lead the AI-agronomy Solution Project in Thailand
and Vietnam. This cross-border initiative marks a significant milestone in Edufarmers’
regional strategy to scale proven, data-driven agricultural interventions across Southeast Asia.
The Project Lead will play a central role in ensuring this expansion meets delivery targets and
builds institutional knowledge and partnerships for long-term, systemic change. The job holder
will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the project, ensuring its success by a
strong focus on grant stewardship, effective partnership management, robust monitoring and
evaluation, and strong cross-cultural leadership. He/she will work closely with our tech
solution partners, partner NGOs in Thailand and Vietnam, and government officials to ensure
the solution is successfully localized and disseminated to smallholder farmers and agriculture
extension workers.
The Project Lead will report to our COO and will supervise Project Associates in Indonesia and
Technical Consultants in Vietnam and Thailand, while coordinating directly with partner teams
in Thailand and Vietnam.
1. Project and Grant Management:
• Lead the overall management and implementation of the Agri-AI Solution project in
Thailand and Vietnam, ensuring activities are delivered on time, within scope, and in
alignment with Edufarmers’ strategic objectives and donor commitments.
• Drive the execution of the three main project phases that are conducted by partners:
§ Technology Development & Localization: Lead efforts to integrate new crops (like
rice, maize, and coffee) and conduct targeted data collection.
§ Piloting AI Solution and Training of Farmers: Launch small-scale pilot programs and
oversee the development of localized training modules on AI usage and Good
Agricultural Practices (GAP).
§ Wider Dissemination: Lead the promotion of the refined Agri-AI and manage the
training programs to reach 200,000 farmers and extension workers.
• Grant Management: Oversee the comprehensive management of the grant, including
financial planning, budgeting, and resource optimization to support efficient implementation
across both countries.
• Partnership Management and Coordination: Build and maintain strategic relationships
with all key stakeholders in Thailand and Vietnam. This includes:
§ National NGOs in Thailand and Vietnam: Lead the identification, onboarding, and
coordination of partner NGOs in Thailand and Vietnam to implement field-level
activities, including data collection, training, and government liaison.
§ Government: Support local partners in engaging relevant government bodies at
national and subnational levels, to facilitate widespread adoption of the Agri-AI
solution.
§ Universities and Research Institutions: Collaborating with academic and research
bodies to acquire and validate region-specific agronomic datasets, such as in-situ
images of pests and diseases, which are crucial for the AI’s localization.
§ Tech Partners: Working closely with our tech solution partners to refine and tailor the
AI, ensuring its features and communication style resonate with the local agricultural
landscapes and specific needs of the farmers.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting: Implement a structured M&E framework to track
progress against clearly defined outputs and outcomes. The lead will define, monitor, and
report on key metrics and KPIs, ensuring the project achieves its targets, such as the 15%
increase in productivity for trained farmers and the successful training of 30,000 farmers on
GAP.
2. Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure proper risk assessment, compliance
oversight, and contingency planning are embedded throughout the project cycle. This includes
financial compliance with donor requirements, safeguarding policies, and ensuring ethical and
secure use of digital and AI tools.
