Job Description
- Identify, negotiate, and secure contracts with suppliers and farmers, ensuring a stable and cost-effective supply of fresh (fruit & vegetable) produce
- Negotiate terms and conditions, pricing, and payment arrangements with suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure dependable sources of quality, quantity, and delivery specifications
- Analyze sales patterns, customer preferences, and market trends to identify opportunities for category growth and enhancement. Regularly analyze market trends, commodity prices, and seasonality to anticipate potential
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive fresh produce procurement strategy, particularly for fruits and vegetables, that aligns with the company’s business objectives
- Working closely with the Category Management team to develop promotions and campaigns for fruits and vegetables categories
- Work closely with Inventory Management and Purchasing teams to optimize stock levels and ensure timely delivery of fresh produce inventory
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience with a proven track record in sourcing, buyer, or purchasing area, with area of responsibility is FRESH product
- Strong understanding of the specific fruit & vegetable products
- Excellent negotiation skills and proficiency in data analysis
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
