In 2019, KarpaLabs ventured into a new service offering in geospatial information system (GIS). KarpaLabs’ first product in GIS area is called GeoKarpa, a packaged distribution (distro) of GeoServer which is a well-known open-source GIS Server.

GeoKarpa provides easy deployment to new customers who want to start their journey into the GIS world using GeoServer as the base product. It comes with a pre-packaged geospatial database along with plug-and-play connection through NGINX web server enabling deployment of complex GIS application. GeoKarpa is also pre-configured to work with leaflet.js -a javascript-based web mapping application- supporting HTML5 apps.

For advanced customers who have deployed ESRI solutions, GeoKarpa distro comes pre-configured with two-ways synchronization specifically for ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise Server, avoiding “multiple sources of truth” incidents. This will benefit customers who want to expose their internal GIS databases to a larger audience e.g. public and also to deploy more GIS applications into its organization.
