Job Description
As a Web Developer with a WordPress focus, you will be responsible for:
- Developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress themes and plugins, specifically within a Multisite context.
- Managing and troubleshooting complex WordPress Multisite installations.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of an Angular admin interface connected to the WordPress backend.
- Collaborating with backend developers, designers, and the client to implement required features.
- Ensuring high performance, availability, and security of the WordPress sites.
- Implementing responsive designs (HTML/CSS) based on UI/UX specifications.
- Staying updated with best practices in WordPress development, security, and the broader PHP ecosystem.
- Bringing new views and ideas to the table – don’t be afraid to challenge the way we are doing things if you know a better way!
Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant web development experience; talented fresh graduates with demonstrable WordPress skills are welcome to apply.
- Strong proficiency in PHP is essential.
- Proven experience in WordPress development: theme development from scratch, plugin customization/development, understanding of hooks, filters, and the WordPress API.
- Crucial: Demonstrable experience working with WordPress Multisite.
- Solid understanding of JavaScript; experience with a modern framework like Angular is a significant plus (for the admin dashboard).
- Good knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.
- Familiarity with MySQL databases and interacting with them via WordPress functions.
- You can navigate the terminal and git for version control.
- Experience with package managers like NPM is beneficial.
- Experience consuming REST APIs.
- You know what Agile and Scrum are and enjoy working in a Scrum team.
- Fluency in English is a must (both written and spoken).
