Tech Lead Engineer

The Tech Lead (Engineering) at IAF will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and guiding the technical execution of our core lending ecosystem, which includes BNPL, cash loans, and other credit products. This role demands strong end-to-end software engineering expertise, architectural decision making skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions while fostering a high performing engineering culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Leadership:

• Lead the technical direction of key lending and platform initiatives, collaborating with backend, frontend, data, infrastructure, and SRE teams.
• Drive high-impact design and implementation decisions that balance performance, maintainability, security, and scale.
• Provide hands-on support in architecture design, code reviews, and engineering problem solving.

2. System Architecture & Engineering Excellence:

• Partner with product, business, risk, and compliance teams to translate business goals into technical solutions.
• Ensure timely delivery of features and system improvements, balancing tech debt and innovation.
• Support integration efforts with third-party vendors and external systems.

3. Collaboration & Delivery:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to define the operational strategy and align technical functions with business goals.
• Identify and prioritize technical initiatives that enhance the organization’s core systems and compliance.

4. Vendor & Third-Party Integration:

• Guide and supervise integration efforts with external platforms, vendors, and partners.
• Conduct technical assessments and ensure compliance with architectural and security standards.
• Drive the quality, reliability, and scalability of systems and components provided by third party vendors to ensure they meet IAF’s engineering and operational standards.

5. Engineering Culture:

• Foster a positive, growth-oriented engineering culture that values learning, collaboration, and ownership.
• Mentor junior to senior engineers and guide team development through active feedback, technical pairing, and coaching.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and shared technical excellence across the engineering organization
