Regarding the Role
The Regional Tax Lead manages taxation matters across Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Mekong countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia). This includes compliance, day-to-day operations, relationship management with external tax consultants, and serving as the center of excellence for taxation strategy and audit processes. In addition, this role will also include treasury responsibilities such as overseeing vendor payments and managing banking relationships.
What You Will Do
Tax Operations and Compliance
- Manage and oversee the company’s day-to-day tax operations and compliance, including monthly tax reconciliation vs. GL, tax payments, and filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare the annual CIT return and handle tax documentation (e.g., slips, invoices, etc.).
- Assist the Regional Head of Finance in preparing the yearly fiscal projection.
- Liaise and communicate with other functions regarding tax regulation updates and validating tax cases.
- Handle and maintain relationships with relevant parties (e.g., KPP Tax Officers).
- Manage relationships with external tax consultants across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, ensuring alignment and support for local tax compliance and strategy.
- Report monthly and yearly tax compliance status for all countries to the Regional Head of Finance.
- Lead or assist in resolving tax cases in Indonesia, with experience in other countries being an advantage.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to ensure seamless tax-related processes.
Treasury Responsibilities
- Oversee vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Manage banking relationships, including communications with financial institutions to support daily operations and broader financial strategies.
- Liaise with third-party service providers and partners to facilitate project collaborations, ensuring compliance with relevant tax and treasury requirements.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3–4 years of experience as a Tax Analyst, Tax Specialist, or similar role, with exposure to leading tax cases in Indonesia. Experience in other countries (Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, or Cambodia) is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Taxation, Fiscal Studies, or Accounting, with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., Brevet).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax filing applications (e-SPT, e-Bupot, e-Faktur, etc.) and a strong understanding of tax planning, regulations, and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and collaborate with teams, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a willingness to go the extra mile to deliver value.
- Treasury: Experience or familiarity with treasury functions (e.g., vendor payments and banking management) is beneficial.
