Job Description
- System Reliability & Availability: Ensure high availability and reliability of biometric de-duplication and authentication systems serving over 250 million users.
- Large-Scale Operations: Manage and scale systems in a private cloud environment, leveraging modern containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Migration & Deployment: Lead migration projects and implement canary and shadow deployments to ensure seamless system updates and upgrades, adhering to stringent service level objectives (SLOs).
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive monitoring systems. Rapidly identify and resolve system issues to minimize downtime.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously analyze system performance and implement optimization strategies for efficiency and scalability.
- Security & Compliance: Uphold high standards of security and privacy, particularly in handling sensitive biometric data.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior team members.
- Travel: Open to travel to Jakarta(Indonesia) for short visits to access, setup and monitor our DCs/DRs centers.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 6+ years in site reliability engineering or a related field, with proven experience in managing large-scale biometric systems either on-prem or in the cloud.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and other container orchestration tools.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably in a private cloud environment.
- Skilled in implementing canary and shadow deployments.
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
- Biometric Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of biometric de-duplication and authentication technologies.
- Networking & Security: Knowledge of network architectures, data security protocols, and compliance requirements for handling biometric data.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in Kubernetes, cloud computing, or security are a plus.
- AI/ML Knowledge: Familiarity with AI/ML techniques used in biometric systems.
- Automation & Scripting: Experience in automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, etc.
- Project Management: Proven track record in managing complex technical projects.
