Job Description

Position Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the functional quality of the products and platforms delivered within our eCommerce and Omnichannel domains. You will test end-to-end customer journeys across webshops and omnichannel features, identifying potential issues before they reach our customers.

Your work ensures our teams deliver reliable and seamless experiences across multiple countries and brands. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Automation Engineers to ensure every feature meets functional, business, and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure testability.
  • Design, execute, and maintain detailed test cases across multiple platforms (web, mobile, API).
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Validate backend data consistency (API responses, order flows, customer accounts, etc.).
  • Execute cross-browser and cross-device validation using real or virtual environments.
  • Log and track defects with clear steps to reproduce and impact analysis.
  • We have 4 Domain Teams that take ownership of parts of our omnichannel customer journey. You will be working in one of these teams:
  1. Browse to Order (PLP, PDP, Landing Pages, Home Page, Campaign Pages, Site Search & Merchandising)
  2. Order to Cash (Cart /Checkout /Payment)
  3. Omnichannel (My Account, Store & Appointment Booking)
  4. Prescription Glasses & Contact Lenses (PDP, RX Configurator, and Subscriptions
  • Collaborate with developers and automation testers to reproduce, isolate, and verify fixes.
  • Support UAT and pre-production validation to ensure readiness for release.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide input to the continuous improvement of QA processes.
  • Support the creation of test data, environment setup, and release verification.
  • Champion quality across teams by proactively identifying gaps and risks early in the process.
  • Be the expert on the details of our platform, applications & products.

Scope of Authority

  • Define and create the functional testing deliverables for the assigned product teams within CX&D.
  • Ensure the execution and documentation of functional test results and their traceability to business requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying, reporting, and following up on defects and issues.
  • Ensure quality validation and provide sign-off recommendation for assigned user stories.

Requirements

Requirements (Knowledge & Technical Skills):

  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field.
  • ISTQB Foundation or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in functional or manual testing for eCommerce or digital products (preferably for a large retailer).
  • Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Experience in testing integrated systems (web front-end, APIs, and backend).
  • Experience in working with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, or Xray).
  • Solid understanding of functional testing across web and mobile platforms.
  • Proven experience with cross-browser testing using tools such as BrowserStack, LambdaTest, or similar cloud testing platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with device testing on both real and emulated devices (Android and iOS).
  • Working knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman, Insomnia.
  • Ability to validate API requests and responses, including status codes, data structures (JSON, XML), and error handling.
  • Understanding of accessibility testing principles and tools (e.g., Lighthouse, axe DevTools, NVDA, VoiceOver).
  • Familiar with WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines and the impact of inclusive design on digital products.
  • Awareness of UI/UX consistency and usability best practices to support overall quality and accessibility.
  • Understanding of integration testing between front-end, API, and backend systems.
  • Knowledge of test management tools, such as TestRail, Zephyr, or Xray, for documentation and traceability.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint ceremonies, and providing test input early in development.
  • Comfortable working with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack, and Azure DevOps.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and browser developer tools for UI validation.
