Procurement and Import Section Head

Manage and control all procurement and import activities, ensuring optimal cost, quality, delivery, and compliance with customs policies, standards, and regulations.

Job Description:

• Manage end-to-end procurement and import activities to ensure timely availability of goods and services within budget.
• Source, assess, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international vendors to obtain the best value in terms of cost, quality, and service.
• Ensure all import and export activities comply with domestic and international laws, including customs regulations, tariffs, trade agreements, and sanctions.
• Manage import and export costs by negotiating with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to achieve competitive rates.
• Monitor the inspection and quality control of incoming goods to ensure compliance with agreed specifications and standards.
• Ensure all procurement and import documents are properly prepared, documented, archived, and easily accessible for audit purposes.
• Prepare procurement performance reports, vendor evaluations, cost analysis, and purchasing forecasts.
• Update and ensure compliance with regulations related to customs, taxation, and government requirements.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve procurement policies, procedures, and internal controls to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead, manage, and develop the procurement & import team, including manpower planning, performance management, and team capability development.
• Support the implementation of safety, health, and compliance programs within the procurement function.
