Job Description
- Manage and administer Linux/Unix servers that host Oracle Database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
- Perform operating system administration, including user management, privilege management, file system management, storage mounting, and capacity monitoring.
- Monitor server performance, CPU, memory, disk utilization, SAN/NAS storage, network connectivity, DNS, NTP, and infrastructure availability.
- Support Oracle server environments, including Oracle Database Server, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle ASM, Oracle Enterprise Manager Agent, and Oracle Backup Infrastructure.
- Plan and execute OS patching, security updates, maintenance activities, and rollback procedures.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and operating system issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance through server health checks, resource utilization reviews, log analysis, capacity planning, and security compliance reviews.
- Prepare operational reports, including daily monitoring reports, infrastructure health checks, incident reports, RCA reports, patch reports, and capacity planning reports.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator or Oracle System Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), or Unix administration.
- Experience supporting Oracle Database environments, Oracle RAC, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, and Oracle ASM.
- Familiar with server monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity management.
- Experience with storage technologies (SAN/NAS), multipath configuration, and file system management.
- Good understanding of OS patching, security hardening, and maintenance procedures.
- Experience troubleshooting Linux server and infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with shell scripting is an advantage.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
