Job Description
Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal advice and assistance to management and other departments to ensure compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the company's interests.
Corporate Legal Compliance:
- Ensure the company complies with all applicable Indonesian laws and regulations, including licensing, permits, and corporate governance.
- Handle regulatory filings and maintain updated records of the company’s legal and corporate documents.
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, partners, and service providers to align with business objectives.
- Maintain a comprehensive contract database and track key milestones, renewal dates, and obligations.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and provide strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor developments in Indonesian laws that may impact the company’s operations.
Dispute Resolution:
- Assist in handling disputes, litigation, and negotiations with external parties.
- Liaise with external legal counsel when required.
Retail Operations Support:
- Provide legal support to store operations, including handling issues related to consumer protection laws, labor law compliance, and tenancy agreements.
- Review agreements for store openings, leases, and property-related transactions.
Employment Law:
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian labor laws, including employment contracts, dispute resolution, and compliance audits.
Policy Development:
- Assist in drafting and implementing internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and regulatory topics.
Brand Protection:
- Ensure trademarks, intellectual property rights, and branding are legally protected and registered.
- Address counterfeit and infringement issues proactively.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in law (S1 Hukum) from a reputable university.
- Professional certification (e.g., Peradi license) is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Legal Officer or in a similar role, preferably in retail or a growing business.
- Experience in handling contracts, corporate governance, and compliance.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Indonesian laws and regulations, including corporate law, labor law, and intellectual property law.
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Other Requirements:
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
- Familiarity with retail industry challenges is an advantage.
