Job Description
QA Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and manage a QA team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment
- Define and execute the overall QA strategy, aligning it with company goals and product roadmaps
- Advocate for quality as an integral part of the development lifecycle, not just a final step
Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts across various platforms (web, mobile, etc.)
- Prioritize testing efforts based on risk assessment and business impact
- Oversee the execution of manual and automated tests, ensuring thorough coverage
- Manage test environments and data, coordinating with relevant teams (development, DevOps, etc.)
Quality Assurance Process:
- Establish and maintain standardized QA processes, guidelines, and documentation
- Implement defect tracking and reporting systems, analyzing trends to improve product quality
- Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects, proposing preventive measures
Automation:
- Lead the development and maintenance of automated test suites, leveraging appropriate tools and frameworks
- Continuously evaluate and enhance test automation coverage and effectiveness
Collaboration:
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to understand requirements and ensure testability
- Partner with customer support to gather feedback and address user-reported issues
Metrics and Reporting:
- Define and track key QA metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, test execution time)
- Prepare regular reports for stakeholders on QA progress, risks, and recommendations
Requirements
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience leading QA teams, preferably in a fast-paced startup or agile environment
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, both manual and automated
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Katalon, Selenium, Appium)
- Experience using Test Framework (Test Rail, X-Ray, Jira, etc.)
- Experience with different testing types (functional, regression, performance, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and team-building abilities
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic startup environment
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Passion for quality and continuous improvement
Bonus Points if you have:
- Experience in the e-Commerce or Quick-Commerce industry
- Experience with performance testing and load testing tools
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
