Job Description

We are currently looking for a Head of Public Policy lead our efforts in shaping national agricultural policy, providing expert guidance to key government officials, and fostering collaborations with other think tanks to drive positive change in Indonesia's agricultural sector.

Mission

As Head of Public Policy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of agriculture in Indonesia. You will:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and other related ministries, providing expert analysis and recommendations on key policy issues.
  • Lead the development of innovative, evidence-based policy and program proposals that address critical challenges in the agricultural sector.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with government agencies, research institutions, and other think tanks to drive collaborative solutions.
  • Raise awareness of Edufarmers' policy work through publications, presentations, and media engagement.

 

Responsibilities

Policy Analysis and Advocacy:

  • Analyze existing agricultural policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze and evaluate initiatives of private sector companies and other organizations in the agricultural sector to identify potential synergies and opportunities for collaboration that can support and enhance government efforts in improving agricultural policies and programs.
  • Develop comprehensive policy briefs, white papers, and presentations on key issues.
  • Advocate for policy changes that promote sustainable agriculture, food security, and economic development.
  • Represent Edufarmers in policy discussions with government officials, industry leaders, and other stakeholders.

Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies, research institutions, and think tanks.
  • Initiate and lead collaborative research projects to address complex policy challenges.
  • Participate in policy forums and conferences to share Edufarmers' expertise and insights.

Thought Leadership and Communication:

  • Publish articles and op-eds in leading media outlets to raise awareness of critical agricultural issues.
  • Deliver presentations and speeches at conferences and workshops.
  • Develop communication strategies to effectively communicate Edufarmers' policy positions to diverse audiences.

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Public Policy, Economics, Agricultural Economics, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in public policy analysis, advocacy, or research, with a focus on agriculture or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of Indonesian agricultural policy landscape and key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
