Job Description
The Finance Manager performs a wide range of duties that may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership in overseeing the financial operations of multiple business units within the group
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate with Country Head and Business Unit Leaders to develop financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans aligned with the company's objectives.
- Contribute to the development and execution of financial plans for future growth
- Leverage extensive international financial experience to navigate the complexities of managing finances across borders
- Optimize cash flow management, working capital, and budgeting processes to maximize profitability and minimize financial risks
Communicate results and recommendations to APAC and SEA finance leadership for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation and streamlining operations
- Oversee all sides of accounting operations including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation
- Ensure tax reports, business license, and annual reporting, as required, are filed on time
- Ensure data integrity and processes across our internal systems
- Management of internal and external accounting audits
- Act as the company’s technical expert in accounting matters
- Continuously improves and re-evaluates accounting and reporting SOP’s to streamline and improve controls and processes
- Ensure compliance with state, local and federal government requirements
- Work closely with HR on employment policies and practices and development of the employee benefit programs such as commission schemes and incentives
- Interface with customers and vendors regarding payments and account status
- Interface with banks to maintain good records and smooth flow of funds and operations.
- Interface with Business Service Outsourcing (based in KL) for payments, collections, and general accounting as well as day to day transactional accounting support
- Close partnership, cooperation and interface with cross-business finance teams and shared services to ensure complete, timely, and accurate statutory reporting for the entity
- Be a company leader who helps drive the team towards success and continued improvement by challenging the status quo, while respecting others and supporting them to do their best.
- Provide guidance on complex financial issues and ensure professional development within the team
- Bring expertise in financial technology, staying abreast of industry trends and implementing relevant technologies to enhance financial processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
- CPA certification
- 8+ years of progressive experience in financial roles, with a strong preference for international companies
- Previous work experience in a Big Four auditing firm is a plus
- Significant analytical skillset, including the utilization of BI and reporting tools
- Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Meticulous, well-organized, and conscientious with a high level of initiative at work
- Self-motivated, hardworking, a strong sense of responsibility with a positive working attitude
- Resourceful, can-do attitude and willingness to learn and go beyond
- Great English communication skills
