Job Description
- Design and develop robust database architecture to support business and technical requirements.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficiency and responsiveness.
- Develop and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Manage replication, clustering, and failover processes to ensure high availability.
- Provide technical support for database-related incidents and troubleshooting.
- Perform data migrations between systems when necessary.
- Maintain data security including access control and encryption.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to automate database deployments and workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum [X years] of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
- Proficiency in at least one major database system such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MongoDB.
- Strong skills in SQL and scripting for automation and task management.
- Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
- Solid understanding of backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and replication concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
