Job Description
As the DBA Team Leader, you will lead efforts in managing, optimizing, and maintaining databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security. You'll oversee daily operations, lead incident resolution, and drive database innovation and automation within the organization.
- Manage and implement database changes, upgrades, and redesigns.
- Provide technical support and solutions to resolve customer complaints related to database systems.
- Analyze root causes of assigned issues and deliver appropriate resolutions.
- Review incident and problem resolutions to ensure they are thorough, practical, and sustainable.
- Lead initiatives to automate database processes and code deployment.
- Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal speed, reliability, and security.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and practices relevant to evolving customer needs and database management trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldโor equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced querying, database mirroring, AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAG), log shipping, and replication.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and troubleshooting areas such as user management, performance tuning, indexing, SQL Agent, linked servers, and backup/restore procedures.
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role, overseeing teams or projects.
- Experience with database design, coding standards, and documentation practices.
- Familiarity with integrating databases via programming languages or APIs.
- Hands-on experience with database compliance standards and end-user application support.
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
