Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Database Administrators, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise.
- Oversee the design, creation, testing, and maintenance of our database systems.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of databases, addressing incidents and problems promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and optimize database structures.
- Perform routine database housekeeping tasks, including performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
- Design and implement database backup, archiving, and storage strategies.
- Monitor database usage, transaction volumes, response times, and concurrence levels.
- Create and maintain database standards and policies to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Lead efforts in troubleshooting and resolving complex database-related incidents.
- Plan and execute database-related projects and initiatives.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience 5+ years working as a Database Administrator
- Proficient in at least two of the following Database Platforms: MSSQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, TigerGraph, Informatica.
- Strong expertise in database design, creation, and testing.
- Leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of Database Administrators.
- Experience in routine database housekeeping tasks, including performance tuning and indexing.
- Solid understanding of database monitoring and optimization principles.
- Familiarity with database backup, archiving, and storage strategies.
- Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work on a shift basis, including participation in on-call rotations
