Job Description
About the Role:
As a Data Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our data engineering and analytics teams to support the migration of our data ingestion pipelines from a CDC data ingestion SaaS to a more scalable and cost-effective solution. You will also have the opportunity to work on a challenging project to ingest data from a CRM platform into BigQuery via webhooks.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and technologies while contributing to impactful projects in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities:
CDC Migration Project:
- Migrating data ingestion pipelines from a CDC (Change Data Capture) data ingestion SaaS (Hevo) to an alternative solution for third-party data sources.
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines.
CRM Data Ingestion:
- Work on ingesting data from Insider (CRM platform) into BigQuery using webhooks.
- Document the process and ensure the solution is scalable and maintainable.
General Data Engineering Tasks:
- Assist in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Collaborate with data scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data availability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Python for scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of data pipeline concepts (ETL/ELT, batch vs. streaming).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with BigQuery or other data warehousing solutions.
- Basic understanding of API integrations and webhooks.
- Exposure to version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of data ingestion tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).
