Job Description

Costing

Product Costing:

  • Calculate and monitor product cost (weighted average cost).
  • Ensure cost accuracy and update regularly in the system.
  • Analyze cost variance and provide insights into price deviations.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in preparing cost budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure adherence to budgets.

Process Improvements

  • Identify inefficiencies in the costing process and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures.

Reporting

  • Prepare detailed costing reports for management review.
  • Provide cost breakdowns and profitability analysis for decision-making.

Stock Control

Inventory Monitoring

  • Maintain accurate stock levels and perform regular reconciliations.
  • Investigate discrepancies in inventory and recommend corrective actions.

Stock Valuation

  • Perform periodic stock valuations in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Ensure proper categorization of inventory

Cycle Counting & Physical Stock

  • Plan and execute regular cycle counts and annual physical stock takes.
  • Document and resolve stock variances and liaise with warehouse teams for accuracy.

Inventory Aging and Expiry Management:

  • Track aging inventory to minimize obsolescence and write-offs.
  • Implement measures to control inventory expiry and slow-moving items.

Systems and Documentation

  • Ensure all stock movements are recorded accurately in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Maintain and audit inventory documentation, including Goods Received Notes (GRNs), stock transfer records, and stock issuance documents.

Collaboration

Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Work closely with MD, Demand Planner and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth material and inventory flow.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure alignment of costing and stock valuation methods.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Provide reports and insights for financial audits or external reviews.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in costing, inventory control, or related roles.
  3. Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or retail sectors is preferred.
  4. Proficiency in inventory and costing systems (Oracle Netsuite, or other ERP systems).
  5. Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  6. Knowledge of accounting standards related to PSAK 14 (Inventory) PSAK 1 (Presentation of FS), PSAK 48 (Impairment Asset), PSAK 72 (Revenue from contract with Customers)
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  9. Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  10. Professional certifications such as CA, CMA or equivalent are a plus.
