DKT Indonesia is the world’s largest contraceptive social marketing program and the first singular program to reach 10 million CYPs in a singular year in 2023.  The initiative was established in 1996 with the launch of the Sutra condom (Indonesia’s best-selling condom) and in 2001, DKT Indonesia established the Andalan clinical services network and a line of Andalan IUDs and hormonal contraceptives. and They then introduced Fiesta condoms to the market in 2003. Fiesta has become one of the country’s leading brands, particularly among the country’s youth.

DKT Indonesia has also trained a robust network of midwives who are often the primary health providers for lower-income and rural populations in the country. DKT partners with midwife associations to provide medical training, contraceptives, and technical support to these essential health care providers.

DKT also partners with the Ministry of Health and other entities like the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association to expand access to modern methods of contraception. Through training and product procurement (DKT is the government’s largest supplier of IUDs), DKT has helped increase women’s access to highly-effective, long-term contraception. 

DKT Indonesia is an independent program that recovers all of its operating expenses each year, providing financial support to DKT programs in other countries.
